Videos have emerged showing the moment when a Russian Su-30 fighter jet crashed into a two-story house in the southern Siberian city of Irkutsk on Sunday. It is the second such incident in Russia this week.
The dashcam footage was published on the Russian Telegram channel Mash.
The video shows a bright flash from the explosion and a thick cloud of smoke.
Another video emerged on social media shortly afterwards, showing the incident from a different angle, from which the plane can be seen nosediving and exploding upon impact.
According to the country’s Emergencies Ministry, the aircraft was conducting a test flight when it crashed. Officials said both pilots have died, and there were no other casualties.
Irkutsk Region Governor Igor Kobzev wrote on his Telegram channel that fire crews and other first responders were working at the crash site.
The incident took place just days after after a malfunctioning Su-34 fighter-bomber crashed outside an apartment block in the southern Russian city of Yeysk on Monday, killing 15 people.
