A new modification of a new generation pilot boat to meet the needs of Russian ports requiring ice wiring during winter navigation has been accepted for testing by the North-Western Basin Branch of Rosmorport.
The boat, built at the Leningrad Shipbuilding plant “Pella”, is designed for the delivery and removal of pilots from vessels subject to pilotage, transportation of special personnel, passengers, cargo, patrol and rescue operations. The project of the multifunctional boat uses modern technical solutions that ensure its high seaworthiness and operational qualities, taking into account the peculiarities of use in ice conditions. The boat can withstand the waves of the sea up to 6 points and pass freely on broken ice. In clear water, the boat is capable of reaching speeds of up to 20 knots. The length of the hull of the boat is 22 m, width — 5.9 m. According to Pylin, vessels of this class have not been built in Russia for about 30 years
